Three of these photographs all relate to the HIVE IRON WORKS. The other photograph is of a Brass Foundry and Copper Works on a different street.
Do you know where these ghostsigns are located?

The writing is on Washington St. It is the building that is in the shape of a triangle with a curve at the end. We love the beehive and the child. These are located on Hanover Street – on the back of the Washington Street building.
The book ‘Cork City’ by Mr Tom Spalding has details of Hive Iron Works.

The Hive Iron Works began in 1800 and continued until the Second World War. They made high quality grates and railings. Cork Past and Present told us that the lion on the Dept of Social Welfare at Clarke’s Bridge was cast by Hive Iron Works. It represents the Perrott family crest. That family owned the Hive Ironworks
Oliver Plunkett Street used to be called George’s Street. In the 1913 directory of Cork, R Pulvercraft & Sons were listed as Brass Foundry at 120 George’s Street.
