When we saw our first footscraper, we looked up and saw this man looking down at us. We had never spotted him before.
We looked through many photograph books of old Cork before we found out who he was.

In his book ‘A Walk Through The South Parish’ Mr. Roger Herlihy told us that the man was Sir Thomas Gresham. His company was Gresham Assurance Company.

When we went to the Crawford Art Gallery to look at sculptures by Seamus Murphy, we spotted a statue of Minerva that was donated by the Gresham Assurance Company in 1889. It was made by John Hogan, another famous Cork sculptor.
