These are photographs of the mouldings and model that we made.
For the moulds, we first put cling film over the sign to make it easy to take off. We then put on modelling clay which dried near the fire when we got home. For the VR sign, we poured plaster into the mould to make it look right and not a negative. We picked green as the best colour.

We measured the dimensions of the dog trough and cut cardboard in that size. We got help to stick it together and with the plaster of paris. We painted it grey. My aunt is good at Irish writing so she did it first in pencil and I went over in colour, by scratching.

These are photographs of the tracings that we made.
For the tracings, we selotaped greaseproof paper over the sign and rubbed over with charcoal sticks.

For the map, we had to go through each chapter and make a note of the different places. We then had to find them on the map. My dad checked that we were right before he pushed in the pins. It was too hard for us to push them in.
Blue shows the streets that we found out were rivers. Red are the buildings destroyed in The Burning of Cork. There were lots of other buildings robbed and damaged but we did not colour them. The different colours are for the different chapters in the project.

We would love to read what you thought of this chapter and our project.
